Each year since 2013, Oak Ridge National Laboratory has invited a renowned, prize-winning scientist to present the Eugene P. Wigner Distinguished Lecture in Science, Technology, and Policy. Named for Eugene P. Wigner, Nobel laureate and former ORNL research director, the lectures provide an opportunity for the speakers to share their research discoveries with employees, retirees, supporters, and friends of ORNL.
Dr. Samuel Ting, 1976 Nobel laureate in physics and Thomas Dudley Professor of Physics at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, will present the next Wigner Lecture at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 17. Dr. Ting will share an update on the Alpha Magnetic Spectrometer Experiment, which is being conducted on the International Space Station. You are invited to hear Dr. Ting’s lecture via Zoom and you will have an opportunity submit questions. Dr. Ting will respond as time permits at the end of the lecture. We hope you can take advantage of this great opportunity to learn about Dr. Ting’s incredible achievements.
